How can I find the material (bromellite) I need to mine?

Make sure you've got a good power distributior. A rated or guardian. The recharge rate has a venting effect that will keep your hardpoints running colder for longer. An A rated PD should let you run at least 2 medium mining lasers comfortably. If your using three try downgrading one to a small laser.

Yeah, I was running 4x 2D lasers on this Krait without any engineering whatsoever. I was only doing it to get through with that mining part to unlock one of the engineers, so no special treatment for that ship yet.

All the engineers I unlocked so far were to get better with the Asp Explorer to venture even further into the black. There will be a time when I will do some PVE engineering as well, some time in the future.

You MIGHT be able to get away with that if you have a Grade 5 charged enhanced w super conduit and downgrade one to a small. On coriolis it says you can fire for 20 seconds before the DP runs out but idk about the heat dispersion. It would probably overhead before then tbh. Sometimes in this game less is more though. Turn off one or two lasers and you'll see a dramtic increase in your mining efficiency.

After mining bromellite, I noticed there's an engineer who wants osmium? Damn... I thought my mining days were over, but nope. That Krait was never intended to be a miner, I bought it as a future AX/PVE ship, so it first became a miner, since it was pretty roomy as space goes, and it was just gathering dust.

Yeah, you can tell mining is not my jam, but a commander's gotta do everything for that nice engineered module.

Osmium isn't too difficult to find. It can sell for up to 300 K per ton at the right station. Alot of people like the python as an early miner but if your strapped for cash the Krait is still your best bet.

Nah, Krait is not going to be a miner, it just fills a role for now, since I will never do mining on a regular basis, no matter how profitable it is. It will later be either AX or PVE fighting machine; probably PVE, since I kinda like the Thargoids, I don't know why though. I just don't feel like I want to start shooting them down at some point.

With respect to mining lasers - check out your build on Coriolis, mining lasers are power hogs. And even if you somehow find the power to run them, you soon run out of limpets to keep up with them. You need 2..3 limpets active per size 2 mining laser - that's a size 5 collector controller for each size 2 mining laser.

Understandable. The Krait is a good AX ship and it just looks like the millennium falcon. It's better at core mining anyway tbh but I understand not wanting to do it. I have no problem killing thargoids though. They've done some crazy stuff themselves.

Oh I did some core mining, for about 3 rocks total? Just for the sounds. I mean, the sounds are amazing in core mining, rest... not so much. And yes, Krait MK II's design is so much better than my Asp Explorer, but hey... My Explorer can go to some pretty crazy places that my Krait will never go to, so all's well.

Can someone clarify this? I am not sure what you mean, rocks are rocks and PWA seems to be needed.
All rocks are laser mineable. Only some rocks have surface/subsurface/core deposits, those show up with the PWA.
You still need a prospector limpet in either case to identify the contents.

A PWA makes rocks with surface, sub-surface and cores glow yellow when activated, unless you have the right mining tools fitted you cannot mine these deposits so using a PWA is a waste of time.

There are 4 options to mine asteroids:
  • Laser mining - works with all asteroids
  • Abrasion blasting - scabs of high yield deposits on the surface of the asteroid (can only be spotted by PWA)
  • Sub-surface drilling - higher yield deposits just below the surface. A drill is deployed to the surface of the asteroid, and at the right moment ejects a core (can only be spotted by PWA)
  • Deep core - the centre of an asteroid that is rich with a particular mineral. Drop a few charges on fissures on the asteroid and watch it go boom (can only be spotted by PWA).
With a DBX you are better off mounting two mining lasers, skipping the PWA completely and just shoot at any asteroid that takes your fancy or the prospector limpet reports good results on. You could skip the prospector limpet controller if you want to (to give more storage space) but it reduces your yield.

I need to save this in a txt file. thanks

If you are only after 30t, I think I might fit a mining laser, a refinery, a prospector and limpet collector and some limpets. Go find a Brom hotspot and you should be able to get that done 'fairly' quickly. Stick a prospector in every rock you find, it will tell you the make up of the rock by percentage. You may have to go a lot of refinery management, flushing out certain materials you have collected.

Cheers, I have been trying to remember all of this in my little DBX.

Need:
Lasers
Prospector limpits
Collector limpits
Refinery
Pulse wave analyser

... and that's only for laser mining. Deep core mining you need a lot of other stuff.. there's a learning curve is my point
Keep at it beyond your current mining needs.. All forms of mining can still be quite rewarding and if it appeals to you; it offers a fantastic Zen-Like chill-out zone for you to quietly fill yer boots with all sort of goodies. Just enjoy.
