How can I make money? - Franchise mode

What are the most effective ways to make money, after the 70 year mark in game. Up until that point I always make money fine but then the rate drops.

What I've noticed so far: Each time I add a new species the donation rate increases
People like the red panda but the red panda is always glitchy (dying of thirst on a faucet) (50m underground)
Flamingos also thirst glitch
Peacocks just breed too fast
People don't really care much about bears

What are some tips to earn money after you have many established exhibits?

It took me a while to get past the point where I could almost build without worrying about the cashflow constantly. I now have $2million+ with about $100K profit per year. My income statement shows that clearly 2/3 of my income is from donations. The majority of the other income is from specific vendors. Thus I would say:
1. make sure you have multiple donation boxes at every exhibit (I use 1 every 10ft on a larger habitat)
2. make sure your paths are wide to avoid congestion so guests can get to more places and spend their money; make sure guests can go in different directions - this helps with congestion
3. check your first vendors and see which are making the most money then consider putting in another of the same in another area of your zoo (guest comments can also help with this; example: I wish I could get a Gulpee soda but the line was too long)
4. Look at other guest needs such as toilets and sheltered areas
5. Don't forget ATM's at strategic locations where it allows guests to take out more money to spend but doesn't create traffic congestion that slows everything else down
6. Check your expenses...maybe you are spending too much somewhere and it is needlessly eating all your profits. (see guides on work zones and there has also been a feeding bug which i think is now fixed ). Food costs are very high for fast breeding species with many years until maturity (i have 20 gharial juveniles so i had to turn on contraception for the parents so I could put a halt to skyrocketing food costs!)
7. exhibits can bring in a lot of donations and if you don't mind the micromanaging of sales you can make a lot of cash selling offspring from the exhibits
