So, currently, to place a large amount of climbing ropes onto a jungle gym or climbing frame for your primates is quite tedious. This is because you have to align each rope with each individual part of the climbing frame. So if you want to do a big, complex monkey tower, then buckle in because it’s going to be a while
The same goes for mesh topped enclosures too, except with the tedium cranked to 11. Unless you’re building an enclosure that consists solely of rectangular shaped pieces, you will have to adjust each piece of the mesh manually in order to line up with the fence, the poles, and other things.
Thus, I would like to propose a new feature to make the building of ropes, mesh topped enclosures, and the like far less tedious. My concept is to allow the player to simply click on where they want to place the items.
For ropes, vines, etc, it'll work like so. One simply selects their choice from the menu, click on the first point of contact, at which point you will be able to drag the vine around to freely place it as you wish.
This is similar to how fences, power lines, and paths are placed in Jurassic World Evolution, another Frontier zoo management sim. Thus, the precedent already exists; it just needs to work in 3 axes instead of 2.
Now for the mesh tops, it will work in a somewhat similar way to the aviary building in Jurassic World Evolution 2. That being that the player will click along the barriers that they want the mesh to cover. Then, they will be given options on what the barrier should be shaped like. It can be a tented top with support poles, a flat top, a half cylindrical top ala a hangar, or a simple dome.
This will greatly ease the building of exhibits as well as provide opportunities for greater expressions of creativity among the Planet Zoo player base.
