Although I believe there is serious effort being put into trying to figure out ways of testing whether or not we live in a simulation. Still, assuming we are, anything we can come up with is limited by the same computations as what generates our reality in the first place. Kindof like physics really - we have to use physics to test physics, so are, naturally, limited with what we can and can't explore. For example, I wonder how much of our understanding of physics is clouded by the fact that we use electromagnestism as our primary investigative tool..That said, in my opinion if you make statements about the world which can't be experimentally falsified, that's more like religion than science. Might be interesting as some curious thought experiments, but not really something you'd spend serious effort on.
Might be getting just a touch OT here now though
Getting back on topic, personally I'm incredibly excited that the pace of medical advances has also been increasing recently which leads some optimism towards full brain link interfaces becoming a reality within my lifetime. We live in exciting times indeed - exponential rate of change. Not all of it good, for sure, but definitely interesting. I look forward to the day where I am as befuddled by new technologies as my grandparents were.
