How come you can intercept targets in SS?

I mean, how does it come that I am always able to fly at higher speed than my target and do an intercept?

Depends on trajectory, Gravity wells also play a part. Not to mention ship speed/mass combined with engine power....

And not to mention, Just because you have a ferrari, doesn't mean a fiesta can't catch you, if you're only driving at 1/4 throttle.....

And if you're following me, I ALWAYS slow down to allow myself to be interdicted/attacked. Gives me just cause to hand out some punishment :p
