How common is the "disposable ARX ships" exploit?

Ok thanks all. Not sure I'm seeing a clear answer here whether the mechanic really exists. But that still kinda answers my main question whether using this mechanic a common tactic among the playbase now -- it seems no it's not common, since it's not even well known/understood among regulars.

And assuming such a mechanic even exists and works as I've seen suggested/implied elswhere, it seems any gains over just flying the roundtrip normally in properly optimized ships seems iffy at best.

Even tho I said in OP I wasn't staking an opinion this still kinda makes me feel a bit better about the state of affairs lol awww...

Let's say you have all your other ships in station A. In Odyssey, you take an ARX ship in default configuration to station B many light-years away. At B, you disembark and sell the ship (despawn). Now you don't have any ship at B. You log out and log in with Horizons mode. What happens?

Are you sure?

You can only deploy an Arx ship once. Has to be destroyed to deploy again. Which returns to the point of not having it, to then deploy once.

So perhaps you misread once as 'ever' not once as 'concurrent'.

The most that can be said about the mechanics, is that they are a situational convenience at best.

99% of the time, just flying to wherever is faster.

Seems like you'd get the most use out of this loading a carrier and combining it with exploiting the carrier escape pod. Go to station, spawn PC, load, fly to carrier, unload, sell PC, walk to pod, materialise back at station, rinse, repeat.

You could equally well do the same with two ships though, just recalling the one you left at the carrier every time you materialise at the station, and loading the other one to take to the carrier and escape pod back to the station after which you load up the previously recalled ship and recall the previously loaded-up ship ready for next time round.
