How do get out of this predicament

I swapped my cobra for aLakon type 6. Re kitted. Bought some cargo and pressed
launch. Whoa No thrusters. OK so now I cannot recommunicate with the Station in order to fit thrusters. Pressed ESC to save but on resume am out in space. Can't move at all. Surely I should have been able to cancel the launch from the Station. Seems like game fault to me. In reality I should be able to communicate and cancel. Now it looks as if I must lose my ship etc. Totally unreasonable.

Check that you haven't inadvertantly gone over the maximum power of your power plant. If you haven't changed the power settings, this will shut down the whole ship.

If power usage in right hand "modules" screen shows greater than 100%, turn off a load of items (guns, frame shift drive etc.) until you have under 100% usage. Keep your scanner and thrusters and thats it online, you should be able to dock and fix.

I don't think it is actually possible to remove all thrusters from the ship, so I think this is probably what has happened.

Can you not re-organize your modules priority (i.e turn everything off but thrusters or set them as priority 1) and then exit the station.
I don't think it is possible to not equip thrusters so when you say "no thrusters" I can only assume they are disabled?

I had this once, go to right hand UI select modules. bet you find the 'Thusters' is not ticked (box filled). If not above advice (disable shields and other modules).

Yes that would be it because thrusters is unchecked. So I will remove power to shields etc and see if that gets me home. I will sort in the morning. Thanks all for your help. Saved me thousands.

No problem OP. Remember all the items you can power down - life support (gives you 4 mins ish at basic spec to get inside letterbox - there is atmosphere inside the station, but not an outpost - here you need to actually dock and get inside), cargo hatch - essentially everything except scanner (needed to request docking clearance) and obviously the thrusters. Everything else is extraneous.
