How do I communicate with my wingman?

Hi all.

I've just bought ED beta and a brand new X-55.
First of all, WOW! The game seems very polished for a beta (I've only tried the combat missions) and the X-55 seems great so far.

Now excuse my newbness but I'm on the combat mission where you and a wingman fight a ship. I can see a Comms window on the top left but I can get it to open. I've had a search on the net but couldn't find anything.

How do I communicate with my wingman / how do I open that Comms window?

You don't as yet, they will fly about and give you general cover but that is for their so called wingman support.

Should be better come the Beta when we get comms, with luck we should also get some quick texted commands we can send to the AI but whether that gets added to the single player mission we don't know.

welcome, and 29th is just 5 days away ;)
but you must practice a lot to be ready for MP :)

comms will be introduced in SB1, just nobody knows at what level, many new exciting things awaits us soon :)

And what a time your coming at :)
SB1 will bring so much more and ED will start feeling like a real game instead of a test!

For me, this is probably when it feels like a beginning, after this week my vacation is over and about the same time the heat that has been unbelivable here for the past 3-4 weeks comes to an end.
While its a bit sad as it means winter is coming, and a whole year to next vacation, it still means more time at home by the computer :))

Next weekend ill be dedicating to mr Jack Daniels and Elite Dangerous!
