Newcomer / Intro How do I destroy waste canisters in the combat training demo.

I am new to this game and new to this type of game. My usual games are strategy games. After opening the combat training demo succeeded in deploying my weapons, targeting a canister and firing. The guns make a noise and rotate, but nothing happens to the canister. Pardon this newbie, but What is going on?

Are you within range? If you aren't the weapons on the brackets on your HUD will be in red and say out of range.

did u target the canisters with "T" then getting in range before firing if there not targeted u carnt shot them

First off, you need to make sure your hardpoints are deployed (Press 'U' by default). Then, get somewhat near to the canister. Aim right at it, and lock on to the target (Press 'T' by default). Now open fire, and wait for the canister to be destroyed.

The weapons are on a gimbal and will track to the current target if it is in the center. If you are to close, the weapons can't gimbal in that far. Back off until you see the weapon site dots converge on the target
