I just got TrackIR 5 and I cannot find any option in the game to turn it on. I've installed it and it works perfectly fine in War Thunder, because War Thunder has a controller setup wizard that ASKS if I have TrackIR or not. So how the flippin' heck do I enable it in Elite: Dangerous?
It "Used" to just work.......Mine did with Beta 2.....However there is something screwy in 3.....There seems to be some sort of conflict between TrackIR and Mouse Head Look....
Disable EVERYTHING to do with Mouse Head look in the options and try again.....
Oh and don't forget to update Trackir when you open it.....Top right corner....New Game updates or sthg like that...
When I first started Beta 3.00 up, TrackIR was also "disabled". All I did was ALT-TAB out, and then come back into ED. It got "fixed" right after that.
I just got one too so I don't really know all the technical details.
The first thing I did was update the software. Then I selected Elite Dangerous from the TrackIR game support menu. Everything worked fine. I don't recall having to do anything with the ED controller menu, either enabling or disabling anything.
Make sure you update the software AND update the game profiles within the TrackIR software. When I updated the game profiles, it downloaded an Elite Dangerous profile, and auto-detected when the game was running - and just worked from then on.
