How do I find ground CZs

Look for whether the system has Odyssey settlements (on inara or the system map if you got remote access). Thanks to the “feature complete and perfectly functional” colonization beta, ground CZs also still (seem to) fail to trigger properly in colonized systems so you may have to pay additional attention to that. That latter thing’s something most reliably viewed in-game with colonization view active, though.

Every Thursday I do GCZs and if I have time I search the system for upgraded PS gear and post it in the Caring and Sharing thread. So the easy way is to follow that thread and see where I'm posting. It's also guaranteed Hi CZs. ;)

The only time this system would break down is when the galmap is so bugged (as you have discovered - awesome work Frontier) it takes me too long to find a CZ or if I end up somewhere where I can see someone has or is in the process of searching the PS stores so I don't post anything to the thread.

This week is He Pora.

The easiest way to find out if there are ground CZs and at what facilities, is to visit Frontline Solutions in the system that is at war. Say you want to sign up, you will be shown a list of conflict zones and their locations, make a note, cancel, fly there yourself.

edit: Oh, sorry I realise you meant without visiting the system and finding there aren't any. Hm...can't think of a way, tbh. I thought most wars with odyssey facilities had them, maybe you just been unlucky.

So I've done a couple of these now, have liked the on foot so far, the CZs are pretty easy though. Do I really have to return to the station and take a shuttle back and forth every time the CZ finishes? And am I going to have to go to colonia to get all the mods?

So long as you don't die during the CZ, you can park your own ship near the CZ, run in on foot to join the fight, then return to your ship and relog to restart it quicker.

And am I going to have to go to colonia to get all the mods?
The bubble engineers and Colonia engineers each have the same set of mods available, so you only need to unlock one or the other.

(The Colonia engineers are a lot easier to unlock than the bubble ones, except for the travel requirement)

Colonia is slightly better for some modules ... Shield Cell Banks as an example - the only G4 engineer is there.

But yes, having everything within one jump of each other is a massive bonus.

I refer you to my post again. :p

It's predetermined. The same settlements always have the same level of CZs but there is no way to know in advance.
