General / Off-Topic How do I freaking stop my sweaty hands????

This has become really annoying for me. My hands get sweaty playing on my Hotas-X set, and I have to wipe the dried sweat off afterwards and it's disgusting. I've noticed my hands getting sweaty before playing other games, but never to the extent where I get dried sweat on the controllers.

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me, and does anyone have any solutions? This is really annoying me. Currently, the only way to stop this is to have my window completely open so my hands are frozen, and the controller becomes cold as ice, but it's a pretty awful solution.

Gloves makes the controller slippery.

Ouch.. that is a medical condition that probably does not have a "simple" fix... people with this condition are discouraged from carrying weapons in our army, for example.. and also excused from having to go for grenade throwing exercises.

Sorry I don't have an answer but my google search results often point to surgery for a cure...

Fingerless gloves(one glove actually) is what I use. For me it's just a matter of adrenaline & excitement & not a medical condition.

I too suffer from this, go to walmart or somewhere that has an auto section, and buy some perforated driving gloves, I find these have a good grip for joysticks (im currently using a logictech 3d pro, i will be upgrading to a Thrustmaster X HOTAS Cant wait!) and reduce the sweating a little bit as they breathe and keep my joystick from becoming slicked. hope this helps.

This is actually a real thing

Unless you're a really nervous Open Play flier, you're seating for a reason... I found just increasing the airflow a little around you really helps.

My office get a tad warm in summer, and a fan helps. Might be all you need is a bit of air (warm or cool depending on your ambient temp

This wiki has a few good tips. http://www.wikihow.com/Treat-Sweaty-Hands

They may or may not be useful but trying some of them at the very least is worth a shot. My hands tend to get sweaty as part of an adrenaline rush. If I am in some very intense combat then they will start to sweat a lot. It's annoying and I sympathise with you.

I don't get sweaty hands from playing, but it does interfere with my painting. I wear a cotton film-handler's glove with the thumbtip and fingertips clipped. You can get them for expensive at any camera store that still handles film or for cheap in any pharmacy (cotton "medical" gloves, same thing). Talc could help, too.

Known issue for me. I had problems with sweaty hands mostly when I was a kid but for some reason I got considerably better over time (and I'm glad I did). Although I don't like sweaty hands at all, even a tiny bit and sometimes they do get just a bit sweaty under a stress. Especially if you lift weights or playing pool. So chalk is my answer in such cases. For me gloves just not cut it, I like it perfectly dry or I lose my concentration. But it gets messy :( Afterwards I'm covered in chalk like a snowman but it's worth the comfort for me.

You might try to use something like that:

Yes the products of pharmacy can be a good solution for the removal of perspiration, the time that you play

I find that after a while bounty hunting in a RES my hands tend to get sweaty, so now I'm trying a pair of urethane-coated thin workers gloves.

I remember having seen RL combat pilots using something similar.
