I'm not going to try to understand if anyone likes the NPC crew constant, repetitive, jabbering. All I want is a way to shut them up! Please, please give me an option in the Audio settings to stick a sock in their mouths. I am the Commander of this crew, right? I can't even deploy them anymore because after the third time they tell me to be careful of the high ranked adversary, I loose it and shoot down my own fighter. As far as immersion goes. If my hired hands disobeyed direct orders to zip it up I would fire them on the spot. Only you can prevent pilot unemployment!

I do believe there is although not a sock setting. Go to setting then Audio > Ship Voice volume (drop down list) > Crew and Passengers.
I tried that. Didn't stop them from mouthing off.

(Muted = no more NPC spam, additionally they also give no more Text spam... Works like a charm and AFAIK is the only way to silence them, short of playing with Audio Off or downright firing them)

I assume that kills the radio chatter and station coms too? Well, if it has to be. Thank you! I will give it a try. Still wish there was a way to just mute the crew. Maybe we need to flog the Fdev who scripts that nonsense.

Yes, it will. But if you forget when docking at a Station, the generic "Boarding Permission : Granted", followed by more or less Silence inside will quickly remind you.
Since it's a one-click solution, IMHO not bad and works great for me.
Definitely worth bringing up the Audio Menu 2 times (Disabling and Re-enabling after you're done), since the NPC spam is otherwise absolutely unbearable.
Having no NPC Text spam going along with the Voice spam is an extremely nice bonus, I really love that.
