How do I get rid of some stuff from storage?

I've picked up some illegal drug from a container. When I realised what I have done it was too late. I had no idea how to throw it away. It was later transferred to my ship and there's no option to destroy, or discard it.
Is there a way to throw away stuff from your backpack?

I don't think you can destroy stuff and yes you should be able to.

Just like magic ring that's in fact cursed and once someone wears it, it cannot be taken off unless someone else willingly takes it off you. This game is like a fairy tale

From the Insight menu, straight down to "Inventory", tab to the type of stuff, click on it, discard.

Erm... by "Insight menu" you mean that radial menu where I can use medkit, flashlight, or throw grenade?
I don't see any option to enter "inventory"
