Engineers How do I get the Engineers update?

Seems like a dumb question, but I'm not seeing the option to download/upgrade to Elite Dangerous: Engineers in the client launcher.

So, how do I get it?

I'm a kickstarter backer, when Horizons came out both Beta access and the upgrade were offered in the launcher. Engineers is missing. (I've not seen the Engineers beta as I've been away for a few months and only had the chance to log in to upgrade the client, apply game updates).

There's no need for any special update, Engineers is just the nickname for 2.1 content patch.

If you have Horizons, you have Engineers after you patch your client.

If you have Horizons then you have the Engineers because it's part of the same "Season". Just make sure your Horizons installation is updated to the latest version.

So.... thanks to all for replies.

Updated client earlier this week - presumably to Horizons 1.6? (is there an easy way to see the version of game one is playing?) Checking for updates simply says the game is up-to-date.
Launch client again today - no option to update, just play Elite Dangerous Horizons, Elite Dangerous, Arena, or the single player combat demo.


Maybe I'm confused as Horizons was a separate download and install, and requires separate updates. Maybe it's because the "2.1 and 1.6 updates for ED: Horizon" don't make clear what each update/version is for - is 2.1 for ED:Horizons and 1.6 for ED?

1.6 is the new Elite Dangerous (assuming you haven't bought Horizons)
2.1 is the new Horizons

so it sounds like you didn't buy Horizons ??

ED is 1.6 now
ED:H is 2.1 now

Only ED:H will have engineers, but 1.6 will have mission updates, AI updates, and other base game stuff (all of that is included in 2.1 as well)

Then you should get access to everything ! Including Beta releases. If you don't see updates for Horizons, I think you need to contact support to ensure you are receiving what you are entitled to.

If you are 100% sure you have the Premium Beta instead of standard or other beta then go to the Frontier store. From there login and go to My downloadable products on the left (You can also check what you bought here by going into Account dashboard and recent orders - r.e. Premium etc).
Pick the one that seems most appropriate (For me I have "Elite Dangerous", "Elite Dangerous - Mac" and "Lifetime pass" -> So I pick the lifetime pass).

Re-download the new launcher from there, install and open. You should then have an option saying "Elite Dangerous Horizons [64-bit]", Open that, fly to one of the Engineer bases to be double sure (listed here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=246338&page=10&p=3966875#post3966875)
If you can't see them or don't have the horizons option contact support.

As of 2.1 the launcher link doesn't say 1.6 or 2.0 or 2.1 etc so it's harder to tell but the above should take you no more then 30/40 mins to double check everything.
