How do I identify the difference between an NPC and a player?

How do I tell if a ship is a player or an NPC, is there any way?

Also! I have a mission to "Take out warzone military personal at the warzone in "Eranin" when in Eranin, how do I find where the warzone is? I had a similar issue iwth not being able to find traders for a similar mission.

As far as I can tell, all humans get "Cmdr" as a prefix and NPCs just have a name. So I'd show as "Cmdr Jockey79"

look at the scanner.
hollow icon: Player

And players have "CMDR" before their name, NPC don't.

The warzones in Eranin show up when you approach a planet and discover a Federal distress signal or a low or high intensity conflict zone.
I'd avoid the high intensity zone when you are in a starter ship.

When you are in the Eranin system and you dock at Azeban, go into system services and read the local Galnet news.
That will tell you which planets have conflict zones.

I agree , with pre-fix: CMDR , or just press "2" , you will instantly be able to figure out the type of ship the human player is flying.

Ahh! thank you, that makes sense c:

What about the missions like "Seeking special gifts" unsure how to steal items ? or should I avoid all these and stick with courier missions until I have a stronger ship?
