How do I increase ride reliability?

My coasters are constantly breaking down, even though I have a lvl 5 mechanic inspecting the ride every 10 mins. All coaster reliability are still "low". What do I do to increase this?

Select refurbish in the maintenance tab of the coaster.

I have the same problem as OP and this doesn't work.
I built a coaster and it permanently has a low rating for reliability. I think it may be due to the fact that I built it so that it climbs really high at the beginning of the ride, but I haven't tested this yet, I'll edit this post if I figure it out.

I experimented quite a bit with one of my challenge parks in harder mode before the winter update. I found that if I refurbished coasters and a few other rides every 10-12 months of game time (the ride tells you when it was last refurbished), the rides did not break down as much or at all. This was especially true of coasters and a few more complex flat rides. Not so much with track rides and simple spinning flat rides. They seemed to be maintained well on 20 minute inspection with a fully trained mechanic. With a non trained mechanic, it's not possible to maintain a ride without breakdowns at 10 minute inspections (hard or harder challenge mode).

My conclusion was you need to refurbish within about 12 months of game time. Or you have to manually watch the rides and request inspections 2-3 times in a row to get the condition to recover. I have yet to check since the winter update (v1.1)

It think that is what the developer was hinting but not saying n the other thread......You have to refurbish frequently in hard and harder challenge mode.

So basically, you need an "off season". Shut the place down for the winter, fire everybody except the mechanics, overhaul everything, then reopen in the spring. Kinda like real life :)

Not sure, I was just sharing my observations in the hopes it will help someone else. Who knows, it may be completely different now with the last update.

I see we now have 50% and 60% interest on loans in harder mode. Ouch.
