How do I join an alliance?

I'm in a private group with someone, now we want to be allies as well. I found a thread talking all about alliances and how they work - but it wasn't clear how to actually join one...?

If you're referring to the ability to form large player organizations in-game, that's not really supported. All you can do in the game as of now is to have "friends lists" and/or private groups.

Player organizations (alliances, etc.) are a separate matter.
