How do I know what fleet carriers I can land on, I have tried 2 with Inara saying they have access set to all, I get ther and I am denied access.

I could have made 2 CG trading trips in the time I wasted flying to these FCs only to not be able to land on them. Thank you.

I just discovered I can click on the FCs in the system map. Some are greyed out and some are in orange. I assume the ones that are greyed out have no access, and the ones in orange do?

I just realized thast the ones that are not greyed out let me click on them and I get the info on the right, the greyed out ones do not let me click on them so I cannot see any ifo on them.

I guess Inara is not a very good indicator of whether a FC actually allows access at all.

Check them in the system map before you fly to them, if the description is greyed out you can't dock there.

Inara data can be out of date sometimes. Maybe landing permissions only get updated when CMDRs actually land on a carrier instead of just seeing them in the system.

If you open the carrier info in the left hand panel it will tell you the landing permissions. Grayed out carriers in the panel are decomissioned carriers, but active carriers can have docking restricted to friends, squad of nobody. The left hand panel will tell you.

Actually it's very good but not 100% reliable, because as @Helmut Grokenberger says it can be out of date.
I recommend checking the timestamp of the last update before making the trip to the system.

The greyed out ones might well be in the decommissioning process.
