How do I know what ticket prices should be?

I am having a difficult time figuring out what I should be charging people for tickets into my park?
I cannot seem to find that middle ground where the price is high enough to make a profit but not high enough to where the people wont go on the rides.

For example, say I am playing the Tropical Challenge on medium and start the game with two family rides and a thrill ride, how much should I start ticket prices at? And how much should I be raising it for each additional ride?

Make sure your scenery stat is @ 100% for the ride.
People will say "That is really good vallue" (if the price is low)

As long as they say that, you can raise the price (untill they stop saying it. This is when you reached the optimal price)

when building most of the rides, you can add $1 naughtily and get away with it. When you add scenery, (As Costarring mentioned) you can add a cheeky few more on top of that original dollar.

If people stop queuing though, that's when you need to reduce it again.

Be warned though, if you keep it at a high price, you will have to add an ATM as people will run out of money very quickly.
 
Also changing the rides sequencing to make it last longer will allow people to pay more for it. Adding just one additional main sequence to the wild blue flat ride can let you charge 17 dollars for it most of the time, and thats not even with scenery.
 
I suggest small moves. You can change price by as little at 10c (0.1) so if finding the ride falling off a cliff .. say going from $10 to $11 .. try $10.50.

You can, add to what people will pay, by adding scenery (even trees, cheap and cost no monthly to upkeep) and by adding to the ride sequence. However, also bear in mind, the more sequences, the more breakdowns! .. So I generally go the other way and save on mechanic wages / breakdown times by shortening the ride sequence. It means lowering the ticket price .. BUT .. a shorter ride duration also means more ticket sales per month. With or without breakdowns., and you can call it a higher footfall or a better throughput per hour but which is better, 20 sales of $10 or 10 sales of $15?

The min-max time-to-start (on capacity, as in, each ride will wait for Any, 1/4, 1/2, Full) is good way to manage the queue because as soon as you have the peeps in queue, assuming no breakdown, they've paid for the ride. So get 'em in there .. through there .. and over to the hat shop .. asap! [big grin]
