How do I know when I'm being interdicted?

I haven't had a chance to test much in the latest beta. I did give it a quick go and a player interdicted me. I was being distracted by RL stuff at the time, so I didn't notice what's supposed to happen from my side (the player being interdicted). Does anyone have a link to a tutorial, video etc? I think I read somewhere the interdiction becomes a mini meta game where the both ships fly in FA off. Is that correct?
Cheers.

This video does a great job of explaining the new interdiction mechanic. You can skip to 2:10 to see the footage of the player being on the receiving end of the interdiction. Once it's been initiated it does turn into a sort of mini game where you're fighting to maintain a course with your escape vector while your attacker attempts to keep you in the center of his view. The blue and red bars on either side of the center reticule represent how close you are to escaping or succeeding in evading the interdiction or pulling your target into normal space.

Hi JackOakley, when interdicted you'll definitely know about it! ;)

First off there is a pretty loud set of FX that play and the screen gets a blue aura around it, then you'll see an "Escape vector" (think the same vector graphic that you see when stuck in the gravity well of a star) usually this vector will fly off to the top right of the screen (not always) you have to try and get the cursor into this escape vector and follow it around as it moves. The closer you are to the escape vector -preferably on it- the better you are doing vs the interdictor.

I don't have a tutorial to link you but it should be pretty obvious what you have to do when the time arrives, important things to remember are if you try to avoid the interdiction and fail you'll take 2% damage to your hull and be pulled out of cruise or you can decide to submit and this is just a case of slowing down or pressing j.

When/if you fail or submit its worth also noting that you'll be usually very close to the interdictor and a slight ramming will take place..so make sure to fly will full pips to shields/systems when cruising.

Gl out there commander! :)

There's another way you can know it's about to happen.

In the right hand panel there is the option to change how your scanner works - linear or logarithmic (default). I changed it to linear as it's more intuitive for me.

Now, as you're flying about the place you will see various NPC/PC pilots also in supercruise. Those that fly past you, do a U-Turn and orientate themselves behind is usually a precursor to being interdicted.

If you press the G key (next ship) you can cycle through the ships in your area and the scale of the scanner changes so those behind / near you forces the map to zoom in automatically (on Linear mode).

I find that helps me to anticipate an interdiction.

Great, thanks for all the replies, very helpful :)
If I'm the one wanting to interdict others from a bounty hunter point of view, can I use my warrant scanner while in SC? IE. Find out if the target ship/pilot is Wanted before trying to interdiction them.
