How do I know which factions I have a good reputation with?

Over the last three years there are plenty of systems I have been to and in which I have increased (or maxed) my reputation with factions. How can I find out which systems these are?

I'd guess I'm at max reputation with several factions in around 50 systems but there are around 20,000 inhabited systems in the bubble. How do I visit the 0.3% of them that I've already invested time gaining rep and influence with? I can remember maybe a dozen of them.

Asking because mission payouts and mission availability are based on rep with factions, and if I only have two hours to play, I don't want to have to 'unlock' higher-rep missions in a new location every time I'm in the mood for missions. I just want to find the nearest place I'm already allied with.

You can quick-check your standings in your Status (right-hand) panel. One of the screens there shows your faction standings. It is just a Per-System display, so be ready to revisit the galaxy and keep a notepad nearby to jot them down.

Or just make New Friends. It's not that hard to rank up with a faction, even to Allied status.

I made a similar suggestion a while back.
I wouldn't want some complex rep-level record for every faction I've ever dealt with, just an "Alliances" tab that lists all the factions that I'm currently allied with.

But to answer your question, no, there is no in game method to see them (except when you visit them, which kinda defeats the purpose here)

If you take a look into your game folder you may find there a 'logs' folder.
EliteDangerous\EDLaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\Logs
If there are files saved named 'netLog.xxxxx' - these contain logging information what happened in your game.
There exist an entry "System:" which show you the system you visit or had visited in the past.

If logging is enabled: https://support.frontier.co.uk/kb/faq.php?id=343

With scripting knowledge you can extract this information with date and time into a new list, which can show you
when you visited which System. I didn't do this myself, because I was never in the mood to script such and the
information is not from much interest for me.

There may already some third party tools out which analyze the game files i can guess. Google may help.

afaik, no ingame mechanic allows you to show that "quickly"

in fact, it should be a rather simple thing to copy&paste one of the galmap filters and exchange "security level" with "local reputation".

but then, looking at the desaster called "services map filter", that task may fail at the lead designers philosophy...

.............

I thought the netlogs were superseded by the journal files? Or did the journals just make info easier to find?

Thanks, but the game already does this for you in the galaxy map with a filter called "show visited systems"

You can display visited stars in the gal-map, anywhere you have good standing will be in a dense clump of visited systems.

Yeah, I guess "clump density" with the visited filter might give me a rough idea.

True. It would have to be "average rep across all factions" but that does seem to be almost a copy&paste of an existing filter. What do I know though, I'm not a coder.... :D

not necessarily -
eg you can currently filter for different economy types, and the same system can give you different results, because there are different economies present in that system.
a minor faction reputation filter could work the same way - and give priority to either the ruling faction or the majority, if you filter for multiple at once.

for missions, its probably enough to filter for allied only anyway ;)

So incomplete... yes from on I bookmark allied systems only... to bad I can’t get the first two years and 2 billion $ of trade info.
Bit of a necro, but still a neglected bit of QoL.

Something that could even be considered part of a "Personal Narrative".

You are going to run out of bookmarks pretty quickly, since that too is a sadly neglected piece of QoL. You'll be better off parking a sidewinder in each system.

Using the map one can see everywhere they have ever been, however one cannot determined to what degree their relationship is. Perhaps FDev could assigned some sort of color codeing or other such indicator to the system indicating that one has visited. Presently, what's the purpose of being able to know every where one has ever been. Having a color based on relationship would make it more conducive. Right now, there's no actual purpose for it's existance.

One's relationship can vary considerably from one station to another, if that info was availble via the where one has been map; It would be a real asset. I've been to a thousand stations, present there is no purpose to being able to check to see which on the map. Adding a color code would give one a purpose.

Actually you're onto something here. Perhaps a new filter addition to the Galaxy Map that allows us to view "at a glance" our standings?

I'd add this one to the Suggestions area if I were you. :)

I am hoping this sort of thing will be part of the Codex updates in Q4, but perhaps I have too high expectations for these new features.

Really, the solution for me would be to show a heat map on the galaxy map to show rep & then some list or search option to find specific things.

Even if it's only in the limited view we get when doing a search for visited stars or blackmarkets, about 50ly. Hopefully FD would also add some benefits to being allied as well.

there ARE already benefits from beeing allied,
minor faction reputation obviously unlocks you more missions,
and super faction reputation also does something, its just so hard to notice that noone knows about it. (it totally forgot what it was)

I'm meaning things like the cops letting you off a 200cr fine. Or pirates not attacking you.

There are indeed small benefits, but reputation could achieve much more. Including hostile factions sending hitmen after you.

Being allied with a superpower seriously reduces the requirements for increasing reputation with their factions.

I arrived here looking for an answer to the same question.

One thing possibly worth noting is that if you're into void opal mining, two 120t loads, or thereabouts at the same station will have you allied with the respective faction.

im sure you can see them all during the squadren creation process, when it asks to pledge to a minor faction. you will have to write them down and then find and mark them in the gal map
