How do I make a nice screenshot?

I know, just "press F12" but, is there a shortcut to hide the HUD?
My screenshots could be cleaner.

If you have Windows 10, or I believe its even on older versions...the "Snipping Tool" works great. You can control what part of the screen to capture and it also has some basic editing functions (like drawing on the screen) before you save the file. I use this all the time. You can find it under Windows Accessories.
