how do I make room for a limpet collector on a Hauler

Hi,

Just a week in to Elite Dangerous and decided to try my hand at mining in my new Hauler. Did ok on my first outing, but man, it's tedious manually collecting those fragments. When I got back to the Spaceport, tried outfitting the Hauler with a Collector Limpet. Whenever I try to add it as an internal component, it's forcing me to sell some other internal component. But all my ICs are pretty critical to spaceflight or mining (like the refinery). How do I add space with internal components? I think I've seen people posting that they use Collector Limpets with Haulers.

You can't add internal components, you will need to remove something else. (shields)
The Hauler is not ideal for mining. Trade up to a Adder, then try mining again.

Ahh, ok, thanks for that advice. Yeah, I've seen some advanced mining tuts where the Adder was used. Still a few 100K away from Adder land. Didn't think about losing shields, but sure, why not. Not going to be engaging in battles in the Hauler.

Careful with that. If you're mining you will likely be in places where NPC pirates will come at you.
