How do i make stairs when making maths from a grid

you know how when you make paths normally you just drag the screen up, how do you do it when placing paths from a grid? when i try it just moves my camera and there is no help page in the game for it. please help i would appreciate it

I dont think you can, making stairs you only go up or down so technically they should be on the same grid but you have to leave grid mode to do them

As Snodge Snoodle says, you can't make stairs or slopes when using the grid. That has to be done in regular mode. Also, stairs need an 8m run for a 4m rise between grids on different levels. So, if making such stairs, you need to leave 2 blank horizontal spaces between the end of the gridded path on the lower level and the start of the gridded path on the upper level. Once you have the gridded areas above and below the future stairs in place, hit ESC to deselect the grid, then put in the stairs connecting them. Be sure the path width is set to 4m before doing this.
