How do I place Spotlights?

I'm currently running the pre alpha version of Planet Coaster and cannot place the coloured spotlights unless they are attached to a wall. In videos on YouTube, I have seen people place these spotlights directly on the floor. Could some one please give me some pointers on what to do? Thanks [happy]

If you make sure you are not editing a building first, then click buildings, then you should be able to place a spotlight on the floor anywhere.
