How do I play a zoo downloaded from steam workshop?

I found the most beautiful zoo on youtube and learned it is dowloadable in the steam workshop. I did that. Opened my game, but that zoo wasn't under "my zoos". I googled and managed to find the downloaded file called "item". How do I get this "item" into my game? Any help greatly appreciated!

In the main menu, click MY ZOOS and then DOWNLOADS (not Steam Workshop, which takes you to the workshop itself)

Thank you Sockeyejo. When I click on downloads, I get the exact same listing as in My Zoos. The downloaded one is not there...

That's weird as I clicked into my downloads just to check it was the right place and all my downloaded zoos were in there. Gonna suggest the usual "restart the game" as it doesn't always register the first time around. If it's still not there, and you've double-checked that you've definitely subscribed to the zoo in the steam workshop and are connected to the internet, then you'll probably need to report it as a bug.

I have two hard disks, C and F. C is my main hard disk, and all my games including steam are on my second hard disk F. The downloaded zoo from the workshop is also on F in some subfolder of the steam folder. However, the savegames for Planet Zoo have been created in a folder on disk C. Could that be the reason the game can't find the downloaded zoo? And if so, is there a way to fix this? Thank you.

Maybe a stupid suggestion, but I had this same issue for a while. I was never able to open the "Downloads" section of "My Zoos". One day I found out that when I click on "My Zoos", then immediately return to the main page and click on "My Zoos" again, it suddenly works, so basically it just wasn't clickable the first time I went to that page after starting the game and always showed the same files as listed under "My Zoos". Please excuse me if this suggestion doesn't help, but that's how I "solved" that problem when I encountered it. 😅
