How do I remove a bounty on my head

hidy ho all,

I have a small bounty on my pilots head, and have no idea how it got there. I suspect it might have something to do with not docking correctly, but its only a suspicion.

Now, I got an email saying the community pulled together to get players with between 3 and 18 hours of game play a viper mark 4. Now this is awesome! I haven't played much, because I looked at the curve to getting a new ship, and figured that would take so dang long, it wasn't worth it. But now I have this new ship sitting in its dock, and I can start working towards fitting it out.

I'm going to go back into the flight tutorials, and re-learn how to fly. But, in the mean time, last time I logged on and started flying around, a player interdicted me, and almost blew me out of the sky. He didn't, because he/she said my bounty was too low.

So, I want to get rid of this bounty asap, to make sure this doesn't happen again. Back to my original question, how does one go about getting rid of a bounty?

You can't pay them off or get rid of them yourself, you have to wait until they time-out. In the transactions menu it should tell you how long you have to wait.

Lesser crimes like the one you describe should only have minutes.

Thanks for the reply.

Is that time, play time, or does that time pass while your not playing?

No probs, it's real-time so you can log-off and wait.

If it expires while you're in the system you are wanted you have to jump before it will clear I think.

Look at this it can help ;) : http://lavewiki.com/crime

Die

No seriously, your bounty is gone after you die :p
Either that or wait for the expiration timer to count down, it will take different amounts of time depending on the bounty

A small bounty like that will expire within a few hours at most. It will turn into a "legacy fine" which you can pay off in the system you got the bounty.

Regarding the bounty: instead of reiterating, I'll just drop this link.

As for the time - there's no difference. In-game time passes as fast (or slow) as real time outside the game. Meaning, if you get a bounty timer running for seven days, starting today, it will have timed out next week Wednesday. No matter how much (or if at all) you play in the meantime.

That is also true for mission timers. If you get a mission that expires in one hour, that mission will expire at 18:00 MESZ. You can't log out at 17:30 and login tomorrow, thinking you'll still have half an hour to complete the mission. Well, you may think it - but the game won't. That's the beauty of the ED universe. The universe doesn't care whether you play or not, it still ticks on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can buy a Sidewinder. Launch it.. Shoot up the station a bit until the cops take you out. I believe your bounty is wiped upon death.

Buy Sidewinder. Go to the system where you get bounty on you. Let Security scan You. Then they will kill You. Re-buy Sidewinder. Go in peace. No bounty. End of story.

If you get rid of bounties that way you're left with a legacy fine for the faction that the security ship belongs to and 7 day dormant bounties for the rest
