I have gone to a new installtion that has appeared in my home system since the update. I scanned it using the datalink scanner and sub targets appeared but I can't scan those. I get really close until the scanner changes to in range but then it won't do anything?
How do I scan installtion/megaship targets?

Don't panic, I have figured it out.
You go back a few patch notes and read the bit about the Data Link Scanner in there. It hasn't changed.
When I become World Emperor, posts like this will be a death penalty offense.

He likely read the message that the Pirate faction put on the screen that said "scan mega ship with deployed data link scanner"...
It then goes on to say in another pop up to scan "Scan target cargo hold"
Then you get another pop up message saying "some one else hack the next cargo bay " or some thing like that...
These messages are sent by the attacking ships...
