How do I sign up for Community goals?

I happened to be near Run and there is a community goal active there. I bought some of the goods they want and headed there but I can't figure out how to contribute to the goal. I have found some instructions on the net but they all just tell you to sign up like it is the easyest thing in the world to do. I can't find anything in the entire game that lets you sign up for a community goal. There is nowhere to make such a choice. Have I missed something?

While you're in the station described in the goal, go to the mission board. From there, at the top, there will be a field for the Community Goals. Click on that and you can sign up from that screen!

Just to tack onto what Gol Senz said... once you click the "Sign Up" button from the Community Goal mission, you generally contribute to the goal simply by selling your supplies from the commodities screen, or turning in your bounties from the authority contact, like you normally would.

After you sign up, you can go back to the mission and click on it to check your contribution to the goal. It will tell you how much you've contributed, and what your current reward bracket is.

Community Goals are fun, and a great way for new players to make money! Enjoy!

These days, you can sign up at any station that has a Missions board. If you are intending to join in then it's a good idea to do this before heading out to the CG. If it's a trading CG then this means you can grab a full load of cargo on the way there and not worry about forgetting to sign up before selling the items on the market. (yeah, I've done that before, whoops)

Beware that in Open mode, CG sites are likely to have gankers waiting around them to attack the unwary.
(Sorry, they aren't gankers, they are Role-playing ... blockading the CG. Yeah, right)

Also drop by the CG sub-forum for tips on the current CG's - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php/176-Community-Goals

One final point make sure you have ALWAYS SIGNED UP BEFORE YOU SELL YOUR COMMODITIES. It sounds silly but you’d be surprised how easy it is to make that mistake. Another one is make sure you ACTUALLY bought the meta-alloys you spent 30 minutes flying out to Maia to purchase. If you don’t you may find yourself swearing profusely when you do 24 jumps back to run and find your holds empty.

Oh, and don't forget to SIGN UP FOR THE CG before you either sell your commodities, or cash in your bounties at the relevant station!!!

But all joking aside, it is far too easy to do as the guys above have said, and I think all regular CG-ers have done this once to the sound of much cursing!

And as mentioned above - you used to be able to sign up only at the relevant starport; now you can sign up from any station/outpost/base that has a mission board; check it out at the top of the factions' list. I would advise doing this at the time you plot your route, then you don't have to fret as much, and you negate the risk of forgetting - I promise you will do it at some point in the future if you like doing the CGs!

Come along and join in - you will meet lots of new people, and make some good in-game friends doing it. There is also a high chance of meeting idiots in Open who think that ganking you is realistic and RPing, so just be warned. Many people play in one of the Mobius groups, and that is where I play most of my time. Check it out at www.elitepve.com and sign up takes 24 hours or substantially less if lucky.

Have fun at the CGs and check out Kietrax' thread on this forum too for more information, as that is a great resource and will point you towards any other information or data that you may need.

Fly safe OP,
The Hat :)

PS: I realise I have reiterated many points, but it would have been a really weird post if I had left them out ;)

I'm using Odyssey update 14.0.1 and I see nothing in the Community Goals section at Tietjen Ring, "No Community Goals available."

What am I missing?
