How do I test a coaster that I just built?

I see no option to do this. I open the coaster and it just sits there. I see no option to test it. When opened, everything in the debug panel is dimmed out. When closed - it's not dimmed but it does nothing when I press start. This game is so frustrating to try and play. I miss Rollercoaster Tycoon.

in the panel you open a ride with there are red circles for stop, green for open, and yellow for test. Click on the yellow circle and it should go into test mode.

Just like in Rollercoaster Tycoon....you hit the yellow button

Silly question... do you have the sim paused? :)

It's a lot like RCT where you have the Red, yellow, and Green options at the top of the coaster panel. The yellow one is test. There is also a test mode in the "second" tab that says "Start Test".

I have none of these features. Park management is dimmed out, and so is most of the features in the game. I can't go underground and the camera angles drove me nuts. I've been playing this game for 6 hours now and have been nothing but frustrated. Maybe this will help you diagnose my issues. In the upper right corner of my screen, "Build 0.1.2.17302" is displayed at all times, next to the settings icon to the right.

Are you playing Planet Coaster Alpha? It kinda seems like you are. If so, look on Steam for just regular ol' Planet Coaster and install it. Voila! - Alpha did not have any Park Management options. You should be at 1.0.0.3 something

uh yeah you are playing alpha (the very first part of alpha from months ago), might want o make sure you are at least running the correct version of the game before you start complaining about things not working correctly
