Engineers How do I upgrade a different ship

Hey all,

Totally confused. I used my Asp explorer to unlock Felicity Farseer, and was able to engineer my thrusters. The problem is I am looking to upgrade my Fer-De-Lances thrusters, not my Asp. There is no way my Fer-De-Lance can jump all the way to Farseer. Also, the thrusters on the FDL are a 6. The biggest the Asp has is a 5. So I cant even "swap them". Am I missing something? Can i engineer upgrades to my other ships, besides the one I bring to F Farseer?

Jump your asp to the closest system with a shipyard, transfer your FDL to that system and then fly the FDL to the engineer from there.
The only way i know.

There is no way my Fer-De-Lance can jump all the way to Farseer.

Have you A sized FSD module ? And more, you can leave in the store all weapons or module you don't need. For upgrade de fsd you need only fuel scoop and Advanced discovery scanner and if you are not a pro, just one heatsink ( for emergency ) Other module ( weapons etc ) you can leave in the orbital base. You, now, are able to jump to felicity with a lot of jump, but you can go

Strip it down if you wanna take it. Lower class D modules, no weapons or cargo. A rate the FSD and a 5a fuel scoop will get you 20ly jumps. Or do as said, jump close in an Aspx then call it out there.

Go back to Felicty with the Asp, reselect the thruster upgrade
Now pin the blueprint.

Return to the FdL, use the FdL and select remote workshop. You'll be able to upgrade the thruster - assuming you have the correct materials.
You won't be able to get any of the experimental effects...

To do that, you'll need to physically get the fsd to Felicity and equipped in a ship

Here's a basic FDL build. Select 'KGBFOAM' systems only in the Galaxy Map when targetting Farseer. 15-16LY jump range with an added fuel tank and you'll have no problem getting to Felicity. Return then start building your serious FDL. Personally I would go SOLO mode no combat but up to you.

Yep, that was the answer I was looking for. Switched to my FDL and used Remote Workshop and I was able to apply the engineering mod to my thrusters. Thanks!
