How Do Pilots Survive Ship Destruction?

is there an in universe explaination for why pilots and npcs can be blown up and still come back? the reason i ask is because in the capital ship trailer and the wings trailer the pilots dont seem too bothered by their friend getting blown up. do we excape pod out like in EVE? are we all Cylons?

"eject, eject, eject" is a sure clue - Wish it were added in realtime and was more true to lore without all of the back to the last station docked at 400lys away. Suggested a proper distress beacon is used and can be rescued by players or by NPC 24hours later instead.
