How do the Guardian blue dots appear on the galactic map?

Hi,

i'm new on these forums, i hope this is the right place to ask.

I'm currently exploring around the Skaudai nebula, and i know there are Guardian sites in the region, so i thought i'd look for more. So i have a few questions about the blue dots standing for Guardian-colonized systems in the "civilisation" filter of the galactic map.

- What makes a blue dot appear? It seems pretty random to me. Example: Guardian structure #9 (Synuefe EU-Q C21-10) has a blue dot, but Guardian structure #59 (Col 173 Sector DZ-D C13-2) doesn't have one. Why the difference?

- Does the system have to be discovered and scanned by a commander in order to appear as a blue dot?

Thanks!

AFAIK systems where Ancient Ruins have been found and then the system data handed in to Universal Cartographics show up in Galmap (unless you know differently on that part @Fact?).

It did seem to be working that way for Guardian Structures for a while then they all disappeared, and now it’s as Fact says.

I’ve had bug reports in about it for quite a while but haven’t heard anything concrete - will put something in the main Guardians thread when I do.

Thank you both!

The aim of my question was to know if zigzagging inside/around nebulae in short jumps was worthy or a waste of time on my way to Colonia / Beagle Point.

I'll try spending a bit of time looking for ruins in the nebulae close to my path, then.
