How do we get to Sol with the free pass?

Can someone help this beginner.

We Mercenary Edition owners are supposed to get a free pass to Sol. Do we have it yet?
I don't seem to be able to get there.

Check your permits menu on your right display pane. If you have a Sol permit, you should be allowed entry into the system, provided you can reach it.

If you don't have a permit, contact support.

I didn't have a permit as a Merc edition buyer. So I checked online, but the shop page has gone. Lots of other sites suggested that the Merc edition SHOULD have a Sol permit, but it's just how it's written; something like Beta backers get the Merc edition and all of this.

The Merc edition DOES NOT come with a Sol permit. It never did. I was never advertised as such. Only Beta/Gamma players get it.

So I earnt it. Did some Federation 'missions' (get some cargo and deliver some massless cargo), and now I have a permit. Job done, and now I can get on with the rest of my story. In a way I'm glad I had to 'earn' it; it made me do a few things I probably wouldn't have bothered, and saw a few sights I might not have otherwise seen, and I visited some stations I might not have visited that ended up having a suitable power plant or whatnot that I hadn't found elsewhere.

I havent mentally written the next chapter of my story yet. Probably need to restock my bank balance as I spent too much on nice things at stations. My trusty Cobra and I will make the most of whatever I choose to do next.

Hi fellow spacefarers.

Thanks for the replies, I'll follow your advice later when I'm on my main PC.

As for whether we Mercenary folk are entitled to a free pass, I'm pretty sure we are. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, when others have posted the Mercenary perks. I remember the pass being included when I read the info prior to purchase. One free pass to either Sol or one other location.

Where is the digital guide and art book?

The digital art book is to follow apparently, they're just adding the final touches.

Regarding the free Sol pass, I've just checked my right hand display, and I have "No Permits"!

The digital guide is just the basic quick start guide here...

Beta Now includes...

Well yes, but AFTER the comma refers to what's in the Mercenary edition. Dito AFTER the colon.
Very bad grammar by FD, if your interpretation is correct.
And as I said, I checked what was included in the Mercenary edition when I purchased it.
