How do we locate areas of geological activity?

I'm currently hunting for geological activityon Maia A 7, which should have Silicate Vapour geysers. Any ideas on what types of area I should be looking at? Do we have a good rule of thumb for locating these objects?

I didn't hear much about them during the beta in comparison to some other features, and certainly not a reliable way of finding them.

Personally I thought I'd check out areas where the surface seemed cracked, rather than impact craters, but so far I've come up empty.

I know there's a locations thread in the exploration subforum, but I'm not looking to follow coordinates, I'm looking for people's methods of first location.

What i read from beta threads is that we pretty much don't know, where and why they spawn. When people thought they found pattern on them spawning multiple others confirmed that they had geysers spawn in other areas and not at all in area types other suggested.

Data for this is still pretty limited so its hard to come up with patterns.
