Newcomer / Intro How do you enter the Camera Suite?

I have set all the buttons. Well, there is button A "ship - toggle camera suite" and button B "enter free camera". How do these work? I keep pressing them and nothing happens, except once in a while i manage to enter the camera mode without knowing how and than i can get around. So once you 've bound your keys, and you are in a station or in space, what do you press to find yourself inside the camera suite? Do you have to be in a particular screen?

It sounds like you're doing the correct things. You must have a both those buttons bound, one to get into the camera suite and another for free camera mode once you're in the camera suite. And, use them in that order.

Do you have any other software using those keybinds? Or, can you assign them another button?

Once binding issues are sorted, use the Toggle Camera Suite function to switch on the camera system once in the system the Enter Free Camera function lets you take control of the camera and fly it around much as you could the old one.

I used some keys that were dormant in my set up. So some of the bindings include Left Ctrl is Toggle Camera Suite, 0 on keypad is Free Camera, then keypad 2, 4, 6 & 8 for direction, keypad 3 & 9 for up and down and , & . for camera roll. Luckily my mouse has wheel click unlock so you can zoom in and out smoothly.

The keypad numbers also double up as view selection when not in free cam. Toggle lock to vehicle is keypad / and my fave is toggle lock to world keypad *. If you are on a landing pad in a rotating station, enter free cam, move to a good spot then press toggle lock to world (*). The station rolls past you a bit like being on a ferris wheel! Now that's what I call solid gameplay :)
