Newcomer / Intro How do you find General so & so and kill him

I've been given a federal promotion mission to kill off a general. I'm at the specified system but where will he be?

Not at the nav beacon so far..

Advice please.............:S

If it's similar to the mission to kill a pirate lord look for uss's (unidentified signal sources)

Also be prepared he's likely in an elite anaconda. But if the specified system has police they may turn up and help u.

The general in the Federal promotion mission will be in a Federal Dropship. In the equivalent Imperial mission he will be in an Imperial Clipper. There may be wingmen present. Let the General shoot first to avoid getting Wanted status for yourself.

thankfully the mission allows for more than 24hrs completion time as I am about doze off in mid flight

I will put your advice work tomorrow...........

also shoot on sight anyone that tries to give you an alternative mission before you find the system your target is in... They'll say something like "we've been watching you since you entered this system.... etc etc etc" otherwise you'll never find him. This will incur a wanted status but at least you can complete the mission for the big reward

Fairly sure that for Navy Missions, there is no "Alternitive", just someone to point you in the right direction. When you DO find him, he will open fire first after a bit of talking. I would not advise a shoot on sight policy for these missions.

Ok - I'm a little frustrated.

I found General whatshisname and shot him up.... Don't get me wrong my Cobra was just about hanging in there but wasn't looking too pretty - but I had him when I hear........ "Frame shift charge detected" - Then ........ Gone! :mad:

I do not have an interdiction device so.... What now? :S

hey Baron Von Willowfan! - can I rank up in both empire and federation?

Or will doing that make life socially awkward on here (some of the Factional banter on here is hilarious!) atm the Empire has the better ship

Yes you can be ranked in both Navies.

Though the Empire is the obviously better choice what with the cooler ships and indentured servitude/slavery <oops, was I not supposed to mention that bit in the sales pitch>

Ha ha ha!!

May be best not shout the last bit too loudly :p

The upcoming Federal Corvette looks to be a beast though so it may be worth flying both flags after all.:cool:
