How do you find HGEs now?

Now you scan for them, right?

How do you do it? You jump into a system and scan from that entry point? What kind of scanner do I need for that?

When you do the honk in Full Spectrum Scan mode it will pick up both astral bodies and signal sources. Tune into the signal sources to see what type they are.

One more new thing to learn. Do I need any special scanner for this FSS?

No, the FSS is fitted to ships as standard. There are a whole bunch of new controls and mode switch keybindings for it though - check your controls setup (it's a bit like the external camera...).

On the plus side, I now have a use for the two rotaries on the throttle part of my X55. The tuners. :)

I didnt have enough time before I got disconnected to mess around enough. I couldnt manage to resolve the USS's as I was doing that when ...pop.

I was quite liking it up until then. :)

Yesterday I've tried FSS just for fun, found HGE in federal system, started scan right after jump, the HGE was somewhat 9kLs away from the main star, it had 20 minutes timeout, got to the point in about 5 minutes, core dynamics components.
I believe same way other HGEs could be found.
