How do you find other players?

I don't understand how people can possibly find other players. I rarely ever see another player. How do you all find players. Please fill me in on all the different ways I can actually encounter other people in the game. Thankyou.

The starting area is your best bet I believe, other then that it all comes down to luck since its a huge universe.

As for identifying a player from an NPC on your radar, an actual player are indicated by a hollowed/outlined shapes, where NPCs are indicated with solid shapes

When you look at your radar the NPCs show up as full squares and pyramids. A Cmdr will be a hollow version of these shapes. Also common well know trade routes, resource sites, and the starting system are hot spots for finding fellow cmdrs.

Research all the systems where you can pick up rares around the system Lave, it is a very common place for people who trade in rares.
Basically all systems that sell rares could be possible locations to find players (but Lave is the hot one)

You can go to the power play faction headquarters systems, players will always show up there.... eventually.

Also once you understand Power Play you will be able to use it as a tool to find players.

Other then that just keep your eyes pealed for the hollow squares ;)

This, as a PvPer, I use power play menus to find other players.

You can easily find traders at the most popular slave trading zones for the week. And pirates.

The forums though, talk to a few people here and you may have more pleasurable time in space. You'll find like minded people if you search them out.

I kinda have a follow up question about this, What option do you need to select in the main manue to randomly accounter people. I just find that I only can cheat 'local' on my comms panel.

OP:
The Powerplay menu shows You where Players are actively making efforts to change the face of the galaxy. Keep an eye on the numbers, and it will reveal where they are lurking; then go there an say 'Hi!'; just be prepared for a cool reception if You are pledged to an enemy Power... ;)

Also: Many CMDRs don't have Xbox Keyboards, meaning that communication will be difficult at best unless You invite each other into a Party AND both of You have a working Headset. This makes many CMDR:CMDR encounters into a tense exchange where neither can tell if the other is Friend or Foe.

If You see me, (and I don't know You) You will probably get a quick "o7" before by DBS (or starting very soon, my FDL! :)) jumps for parts unknown; drops from SC; and then jumps again to avoid Wake Scanners. Feel free to shoot me a message on Xbox Live if this happens.

cool cool what do you mean by keep an eye on the numbers? Are you just referring to what systems have the highest opposition or have the highest trigger or what?

Simply put... yes. The higher those fortification/undermine numbers (not the triggers), the more active people have been in that area specifically for powerplay.
if the triggers have been reached however theres every chance those players will have moved on.
