How do you follow a Low Energy Wake out of Supercruise?

Hi,

I noticed when doing missions I get an NPC who says something over comms like 'Don't worry, I've been looking for you. Follow me, I think I have something you will find interesting'. I assume he will lead me to some targets, but when he drops out of SC I can't seem to follow his low energy wake (unless I have just forgotten how to do it). How do you do it?

Thanks!

Just target it and follow it the same way you would approaching a station. Not exactly sure what they want when they say that but I always presumed it was an ambush lol.

Had the same thing, wondered if they expect us all to have wake scanners or something.

Or can one just lock the energy wake and go out of SC within 1000km?

Not to mention that i never read those tiny messages outside my direct vision since the message window needs to activate first.

An alert of personal message would be nice.

Yeah, jsut approach to 1000km and drop out like you would at a station.

These NPCs are the ones who you'd occasionally find at USSs who would give you 'updates' to your missions, offering you alternative suggestions which you can choose toa ccept or decline.

Target it and drop out as you would a station. However, it's not an astronomical body, it's a contact, so there's no ETA, and it's harder to drop as the game will overshoot you if you keep it in the autopilot zone. It takes some skill.

There are basically two speeds when approaching a wake. So slow it will have despawned before you get there, and so fast you'll overshoot as soon as you glance at the throttle. Try not to get it wrong, because if you do and drop without a lock the wake will be gone when you get back.

Before Wings this was how we played with friends. Have the appropriate amount of fun!

These npc offer you alternatives for the missions you currently have.
I always ignore them, because I never betray a client and always fulfill a contract to the letter.
Also the extra money these alternatives offer is laughable. I might be seduced if they at least tripled the money.

Get within 1000k? i only ever see anyone if I drop out within 200km of the wake, otherwise there is no one there. To do that you have to crawl... its tedious.

They should probly do something about the silliness of dropping into a low wake, it's beyond tedious and not at all intuitive. Should act like a USS or allow some leeway like nav locked wing beacons.

A wake scanner making it the most easy to drop into might give the module a point, but that would require making it work in supercruise, which would fix the problem that makes its pointless. So that probly won't happen
