How do you get guardian blueprints

I am at a guardian terminal and i have just put the key in and an orb is in front of me, am i supposed to get something from the orb once scanned?

Target it, scan it, get a message - look in data inventory see "Guardian xxxx Blueprint Segment" ...

I scanned it and all i got was a message saying i have received 50,000cr and thats all i got

If you got the moolah for the discovery then you should see an entry in your inventory / data list showing the "Guardian ..... Blueprint Segment" too.

Did you use your composition scanner, rather than your data scanner?

Check in your firegroup tab (right HUD) what you have assigned.
