I've seen several posts that make a comment along the lines of, "I got in the ship and now..."; I can't figure out how you're supposed to get in the ship for the "Board the drop ship" objective. I cannot walk up the ramp and there is nothing to interact with. What am I missing? I just picked up Odyssey recently as I'm returning from a bit of a hiatus, and this is the first real snafu I've run into in the tutorial mission, and apparently I'm the only one that has encountered this one based on the complete lack of anything I'm finding here or anywhere else. I have to assume I am missing SOMEthing, but I don't have the slightest clue what it might be at this point.

And you missed an extremely key piece of information there. I was standing in said field, but nothing was happening. After I alt tabbed back into the game after writing this post and a reddit post, the mission had reset a few seconds, and the Cobra was landing again. THIS time, when I walked into the field I got the prompt to hit the activate key to board the ship from within the field. Just standing in the marked area isn't enough, and without the prompt showing up, there is no way to know to try the activate button. Since you're not standing near anything to "activate" or "use", it isn't intuitive.

Never had an issue with it. 
Just press "E" In The Blue Field just in Front of the Ramp to Ship Door. If you do not see a blue field, your Shield is recharging in that Area.
Sometimes had issues with it when I have bothered to not skip it, last time when I was trying new bindings the only issues were mine.Never had an issue with it.
