how do you plan long distance trip ?

I want to go to SOL which is 80YL away, when I go in the galaxy map it doesn't give me the option to plan a travel route. there is any external tool to plan long trip ?

You will get the option, just wait a few minutes in the map and the routes will populate.

You need a permit for Sol, check you have it.

If the game says route not possible, then it means that somewhere in the route a system is too far away for your current ship to jump to.

Don't forget to set the "fastest" or "economical" route from the navigation tab in the Galaxy map options as well

lol when you said a long trip I was about to say in blocks of 400ly

Glad I read the rest...

So fit a fuel scoop and fit a better Frame Shift Drive, also fit D modules where you can (They increase Jump Range)

Then open Galaxy map and select fastest route.

Then grab a coffee and wait until SOL System plot route option lights up, select it.

This vid may help and don't forget to scoop fuel on the way, if you run out you will have to self destruct.
