How do you "play" ED when you can't actually play?

So like many people here I'm sure, I work full time and have a riveting social life.

....wait, let me try that again.

But seriously, I get anywhere from 1-4 hours of playtime a night, more or less dependent on my schedule and plans with friends. I spend my time at work checking the forums and deciding what I want to do in game when I get home. The problem is, there's a lot of things I can't really determine without getting in game, such as the economy and ship/module shopping. So long story short, I spent most of my play time yesterday kitting a python for trade, trying to work out a trade route sans tools, and kitting a vulture for combat. While I somewhat enjoyed it all, I feel like I accomplished jack squat.

Do you other CMDR's also do this? How do you avoid/remedy this problem?

I would give a lot for 1-4 hours a night to play. Love to have free time at work as well.

I sit back and relax and take the view that its a long voyage and I am going to enjoy every minute - kind of makes them more precious.

Sometimes I stare out of my window at people passing by, or at a tree, which is something I occasionally do if, in that particular moment I am in awe of how beautiful the game looks. Usually I'm **** out of my mind when that happens though.

Does this count?
