Newcomer / Intro How do you re-stock a SRV with ammo?

Hello,

My SRV is out of ammo. I assumed that I could go back to a Starport that has re-stocking facilities and restock it, but when I go back to a Planet the SRV is out of ammo.

I have encountered a similar problem with Oxygen. The only way I could re-fill the SRV with Oxygen was to transfer the SRV Hanger to Stock and then back to the ship.

Is this a bug?
How do you re-stock a SRV with ammo?
Is the only way to re-stock a SRV with ammo via Synthesis?

Yes, that sounds like a bug. You could try to restock the ammo via synthesis to see if you can circumvent the problem, but it doesn't change the fact that it is a bug. Go report it.
Normally when you dock at the port, your SRVs are fully restocked and refueled.

If you go to the "Restock" page of the "Advanced Maintenance" option in Starport Services you will see that the only option for the SRV is to actually replace / buy a SRV Scarab (1030 in LYR space) - so it seems that you can only restock the SRV ammo via synthesis.

Don't know about the Oxygen - I have never seen / been down to using emergency life support in an SRV, I suppose that only occurs when you let the fuel run out?

I think this is a Bug. I docked my ship at a Statport and "re-stocked". Flew to Planet surface (no ammo). Flew back to Starport "re-stocked" and transferred the SRV Hanger to Stock then back to the ship. I now have full ammo again. Unless the SRV Hanger to Stock and back to ship is the actual Bug! I will report the Bug and update the post.

I think it's a bug too...

Since 2.2, SRV's aren't being refueled when you refuel your ship either, so unless it's changed officially, which I don't think it has, then it's probably a bug. Might be worth a bug report.

On a side note, the hull still gets fully repaired simply by boarding back to your ship.

You shouldn't even need to "restock" at station. the moment you're docked, the SRV should be full. The SRV restock option is there just to replace the lost SRV so you don't have to go to outfitting, AFAIK

I also tried the solution offered by Smallous and it worked,Scarab was fully fuelled and ammo store filled after transferring hangar to stock and back again.....I hope this is not future procedure,it's a bit of a faff!

SRV re-anything at stations seems to be broken at the moment. You don't get fuel either, so be prepared to synth until that gets repaired.

Not sure what is going on.
You should be able to restock and repair at most stations.

You can also synthesize ammo and fuel when in the SRV.
You can also repair your SRV that way.
The mats you need are easy to find.
I do it all the time. Works like a charm.

Your SRV also repairs when you enter your ship.
I don't think it refuels though. Not sure.

Yes, the hull repairs every time you board the ship. That is still the case. As far as I can remember it never re-fueled or restocked ammo just by re-boarding the ship, but did so when you docked and refueled and restocked the ship. Now it does neither of these things.

Synthesizing, as you say is not really a big deal, but would be nice to know if this was by design or a bug. I'm presuming the latter...
