Newcomer / Intro How do you setup the throttle when playing with keyboard and mouse?

Been playing for a couple of months now, mouse and keyboard, mostly flight assist on, and my biggest problem by far is matching the npc ships speed to manage to stay behind them. I either overshoot or fall behind, can never follow them in the smooth way i see people on videos do. So for people that use the mouse, how do you setup your throttle, increments wise? Do you mostly use the thrusters with the throttle say in 50%? I have all thrusters bound in keys and throttle in mouse wheel but i find it kind of not practical since the mouse drives and shoots at the same time. Thanks for any help, i 'm master at fighting rank atm but can't say i enjoyed fighting so far, it REALLY feels like i 'm bad at it.

I used the options menu to set up the throttle, which is now space bar to go faster and the / to slow down. The time I am pressing them, dedicates how fast or slow I go. If I let go, the throttle stays where it is.

I have throttle control generally set to my mouse scroll wheel, which seems like the most convenient method (for me). I also have key bindings for 0, 50, 75 and 100% throttle (on the 1, 5, 7 and 0 keys). Between them I can micro-adjust with the scroll wheel, or hit the 1 and 0 keys for minimax throttle, and the 7 key for matching speed at the 7 second mark when approaching stations and other key points in supercruise.

OK, its been a long time since I set this and I'm not at home right now, but I'll try.
I am a lefty so I have my throttle set to +50%. Then I use my up and down arrow for thrusters which will take you from your default +50% speed, to +100% or -100%
Once I release the arrow key, my speed returns to 50% where I'm at optimum turning rate.

Now if you use FA off, you will break the default 50% setting and your throttle will return to zero, you must reset it to 50% (key bound for this).

You can you whatever you wish for throttle up and down, but mouse wheel may not work so well on the setup I described.

Remember, throttle for set speed. Thrusters for speeding up and slowing down.
