How do you unlock black markets?

So i used to play back around release took a bit of a break and came back recently being trying to work on the engineers which of course includes unlocking 5 black markets.

i had 2 unlocked earlier from my original time here, by scooping illegal salvage from pirates/bounties and selling it but now that doesnt seem to work.

i have tried picking up illegal cargo from planet surface points of interest, getting it from destroying pirates and by buying it (slaves) ive tried filling my hold and using just 1 ton, gone to a dozen or more different black markets tried going to all in a system just to see if that was it, tried logging in and out of open and solo , tried selling at markets in both open and solo.

nothing seems to work and im still stuck at 2 unlocked black markets on both the dwellers screen and on the right panel status screen.

what am i doing wrong?

I would assume it means that you just have to sell to 5 different black markets, which it sounds like you've done from your post, so I'm not sure what's happening in your case. Did you manage to sell something to those other black markets you visited?

You just need to find black markets you haven't been to before and sell to them. It's nothing to it. Just grab a but of illegal goods and jump around till you find them. Though it's not always the case, Anarchy systems have a better chance of having them.

Just make sure they are black markets you've never sold to before. I'm not entirely sure but I think multiple black markets in the same system count as 1 black market and you need to go to a different system for it to count

No, each blackmarket in system counts as 1 blackmarket to your count so it's better to go to multiple markets in the same system.

Here are 5 blackmarkets you can use. As said above, you just need to sell an illegal item in each.

No, each blackmarket in system counts as 1 blackmarket to your count so it's better to go to multiple markets in the same system.

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't too sure on that bit of it. Granted by the time this became important enough for me to need to know I had a black market network of 84 sooo....

well thanks for the replies guys but i am thinking that i am simply bugged as i have done all you have suggested and a lot more beside. if all i need to do is sell one ton of illegal goods to each unique black market to unlock them its clearly just not working for me.

Yeah, 2.2 is pretty buggy atm so I wouldn't be surprised if it is a bug. Ticket it to be on the safe side
