How do you view the system map for a system you’re not in?

When in the Galaxy map, I have a system selected, how can I view the system map of that system? Is that functionality completely gone or am I missing a button?

For some reason, this button is conditional .. though I don't know what the conditions are.

It's the amazingly intuitive UI design. Some buttons disappear when you don't have the data (system map), some hang around (missions). it's a never before seen design paradigm - most designer pick one or the other, we get a combination

Ah ok. I was trying to do it while I had a route planned, I imagine that is one of the reasons it will not show up then.

Yep but you still have to have visited the system first or the system map is blocked never been there no system map...
Use External sites instead to see whats in a system with out ever having been there....
