lol. Maybe not in the same spirit, but Elite really made me view RL starry sky as a place to go and appreciate as well as something to just look at and appreciate. Both never get old.

Once, I used to think of astronomical distances as ways to look into the past.
Now I just quantify them in terms of jumps of an AspX.

Also, in the past, I used to look at the Pleiades with fascination.
Since ED, however, every time I see them, I think: Thargoids!

I remember seeing a squarish piece of green plastic at work last spring. I immediately thought it looked like aerogel. Once I got back into the game later, I realized that wasn't possible. Aerogel is reddish-brown, not green...

I played ED for a few thousand hours during lockdown, and then when I'd do a car trip once a week it was bloody hard to remember I was in a saloon car and not my Viper, and it wasn't going to handle like one.
